図書館勤務の友人からちょっといい話きいた。

そこは子供相談窓口を設けているんだけど、
小学校低学年くらいの子供が、
「いぬのかいかたはこれでいいですか」
と紙に箇条書きにしたものを持ってきたそうだ。

その子はここ数日ずっと通ってて、犬の飼い方の本をたっぱしから調べてたらしい。
聞いてみると、「犬を飼いたい」と親御さんにねだったら、
犬を飼うにはどうしたらいいか、飼ったら何をしなくてはいけないか、
自力で調べてこいと言われたそうだ。
「まいにちさんぽさせる」
「予防ちゅうしゃする」
とか一生懸命書き写したらしい。

友人は知り合いのペットショップに連絡して、
そこに行って聞いて来いと教えてあげたそうだ。

「犬、飼えるといいね」と言ったら小学生嬉しそうに、
「うん！売ってる犬じゃなくて、もらう犬にするの」と答えたらしい。

もらう犬とは、どうやら里親募集とかしてる犬のこと。
少なくとも一匹、間違いなく幸せになれる犬がいると思った。
